1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.

4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

6. Fold in the dried cranberries and chopped walnuts.

7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a twist, you can substitute the walnuts with pecans or almonds.

Make sure not to overbake the cookies for a chewy texture.
